Registration

Policy Statement   

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Pre-School accepts students regardless of race, religion or ethnic background. Congregation members, currently enrolled students and their siblings have priority enrollment until March 1st of each year. We then accept registration on a first come, first served basis. Call the church office (309-342-7083) to inquire about availability of class space. Pre-School registration is deemed complete when a completed enrollment form and $ 40.00 non-refundable registration fee are received in the church office. Each child is required to have a physical before entering school. Medical immunization records including lead screening and TB test are required. Completed physical forms are due the first day of school. Registration and physical forms are available from the church office.

Tuition fees are reviewed and established each year by the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Board of Education.
Registration:    $ 40.00 per student (non-refundable)
Tuition:    

MWF Class    $ 85.00 per month, per student

TT Class    $ 68.00 per month, per student 

Families with more than one child enrolled will receive a 20% discount.
 
Scholarships

Tuition assistance scholarship money for October-May may be requested. Application forms are available in the church office. The scholarship fund is due to the generosity of Mt. Calvary Lutheran members, alumni families and PTO fund raising efforts. The amount varies from year to year. The Board of Education reviews all applications and awards tuition assistance each year on the basis of need and the availability of funds.

 Curriculum

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Pre-School has a Christian based curriculum. We strive to help all our students realize that God the Father loves and cares for them, that Jesus is their special friend and Savior and that the Holy Spirit is working within our hearts. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth and Easter celebrates His resurrection. We have daily prayers, Christian songs and closing devotions. The MWF class has chapel with Pastor Smith each Wednesday morning at 9:05 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

TT Class 3-year olds ( 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. )

The curriculum for the TT Class is based on units lasting one to four weeks. During September we concentrate on learning each other's names and the classroom rules and limitations. October units include learning about fall, leaves and pumpkins. During November we study Native Americans, turkeys and the first Thanksgiving. We spend the entire month of December preparing to celebrate the birthdate of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. During January, February and March we spend one or two weeks on each of the ten major colors. Stories, art activities, songs, gross motor activities and sometimes snacks all emphasize the designated color. We finish the year with units on Plants and Seeds, Zoo Animals, Pets and Farm Animals.

MWF Class 4-year olds ( 9:00 - 11:30 A.M. )

The curriculum for the MWF class is based on units that emphasize letters of the alphabet for one week. Stories, art projects, gross motor activities and free-play choices reinforce each unit theme. Units may vary from year to year.
